Veggie Rolls more like spring rolls is something I call a thick and baked version of a spring roll, a classic dish perfect for evening snacks or entertaining guests. You can make them vegan, vegetarian, or even with chicken or beef.
- 1. How to make your veggie roll dough; 1. Mix your flour, salt, butter and water in a bowl.
- 2. Knead your dough well it it looks like the image below.
- 3. Set aside and prepare your fillings.
- For the fillings; 1. Heat up your cooking oil in a pan on medium heat and sauté your onions till it’s translucent.
- 2 Add your Shredded turkey/beef/chicken and stir-fry. Add your spice mix, stir to combine and stir-fry for about two minutes.
- 3. Add your shredded cabbage and carrot and stir-fry for about a minute then remove from heat. Set aside to cool.
- 4 Mix a tablespoon of flour with a tablespoon of water and set aside to be used as the sealing paste.
- 5. Back to our kneaded dough roll it out and cut the in shape of a square, add your filling to it and continue in that pattern.
- 6. Roll it up and seal it with your water and flour mix in step 4.
- 7. Preheat your oven for about 10mins and set your rolls on the tray and bake.
- 8. Fried some of the rolls.
- 9. Serve and enjoy with a chilled drink.
