- Preheat oven to 180° (350). Grease and lightly flour cake pan or line with baking paper.
- Sift together flour, baking powder and salt, put aside.
- In a large bowl mix sugar, butter and vegetable oil till white and fluffy, add vanilla essence and mix. Then add eggs one at a time mixing well after each addition.
- Add flour mixture alternately with milk, starting and ending with flour.
- Pour into a baking pan and bake for 1 hour or until toothpick inserted in the centre comes out clean. Allow to stand in the tin for 5 minutes before removing to cool on a wire.
