The name of the soup is “yellow soup”, popular in places like brass and nembe local government of bayelsa state in Nigeria. The soup also called “woroin” and it’s sometimes referred to as their native soup.
Serve with swallow of your choice.
- Wash fish carefully, if catfish wash with warm water until all slime is gone.
- Wash and clean the shrimp , Ngolo, Snail and Periwinkle.
- Set a pot on fire, add palm oil to the pot.
- After a minute add the diced or blended onions, fry for 30 seconds and add the fish with desired amount of water, add the blended pepper, Maggi and salt.
- Leave to steam for about 8 to 10 minutes.
- After steaming the fish,add the Periwinkle, Ngolo, Snail and shrimp. Allow to boil for 2 to 3 minutes.
- For the final part add the sieved garri, not too much, just the right quantity to thicken the soup.
- When the soup is a bit thicker and everything is properly cooked , you can bring down the pot.
