- 1 bowl of ugwu leaves
- 2 Pint
- 2pieces of habanero pepper
- 1 Gram
- 1 onion bulb
- 2 Tablespoon
- 2tsp of groundnut oil
- 1 Cup
- Half cup of grounded crayfish
- 3 Ounce
- Panla fish
- 2 Tablespoon
- Seasoning cubes
- 2 Pint
- Garlic and ginger

This vegetable soup is made with Pumpkin leaf; that is “Ugwu”. It’s a more common way of making vegetable soup in the east side of Nigeria. Here’s how to make ugu
- Pick ugwu leaves and cut
- Wash with warm water and drain water using seive
- Wash panla fish and set aside
- Put a pot on the fire and add groundnut oil
- Pour your sliced onion into the hot oil and fry for a minute. Add you ginger and garlic paste as well
- Add you sliced pepper into the pot along with your washed panla fish and let it simmer for 2minutes
- After two minutes, add grounded crayfish, seasoning cubes and salt to desired taste then stir
- Add your drained washed ugwu and stir together. Let it simmer for 2minutes
- Turn off the heat and serve with rice or yam
