Chin chin is a sweet, crunchy Nigerian snack prepared by deep frying method. It is among the class of small chops or finger foods because it can be picked with the finger to the mouth and eaten whole at once. It has a long shelf life when properly fried and stored in an airtight container.
- Measure out and sieve your dry ingredients, flour, sugar, baking powder , nutmeg, salt and butter in a bowl
- Mix in very well with your finger tips until it looks like grains of fine garri
- Add your egg, liquid milk and mix. Add little water to form a firm dough.
- Allow to rest for some time, knead out on a smooth surface to flatness
- Cut in a desired shape and sizes and pour on a floured tray to avoid sticking
- Fry in hot oil using deep fat frying method on a moderate heat until lightly brown.
- Pour into a sieve with paper cloth to cool
- Serve as a snack or an appetizer
