BREAD CRUMBS

Making homemade bread crumbs is a great way to use up stale bread and avoid wasting food. Here’s how to make breadcrumbs:

Ingredients:

  • Left over bread
  • Salt and pepper (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Preheat your oven or air fryer to 350°F (180°C).
  2. Cut your stale bread into small cubes or slices. You can use any type of bread..
  3. Place the bread on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper, making sure that the bread is in a single layer and not overlapping.
  4. Bake the bread in the preheated oven for 10-15 minutes, or until the bread is dry and crispy. Stir the bread cubes occasionally to ensure that they are evenly toasted.
  5. Remove the bread from the oven and let it cool completely.
  6. Transfer the cooled bread to a food processor or blender and pulse until the bread is finely ground. If you prefer a coarser texture, pulse the bread for a shorter amount of time.
  7. If desired, season the breadcrumbs with salt and pepper to taste.
  8. Store the breadcrumbs in an airtight container in the pantry or freezer. Homemade breadcrumbs will last for several weeks in the pantry and up to six months in the freezer.
