Red velvet cake is much more than vanilla cake tinted red. This recipe produces the best red velvet cake with superior buttery, vanilla, and cocoa flavors as well as a delicious tang from buttermilk.
- Preheat oven to 350°F (177°C). Grease two 9-inch cake pans, line with parchment paper rounds, then grease the parchment paper. Parchment paper helps the cakes seamlessly release from the pans.
- Combine the flour, salt ,baking soda and cocoa powder into a large bowl and mix together.
- In a separate bowl ,add the eggs and beat them thoroughly.
- Pour the sugar ,butter milk ,oil and vanilla extract into the bowl with the eggs and mix unit everything is nice and creamy.
- Slowly combine the wet ingredients with the dry ingredients
- Fold in the vinegar and red food colouring untill all of the batter is red.
- In your greased cake pan, pour in the barter and then bake for 45 min.
