Pounded yam

Popular among ekiti people. Pounded yam is a nice meal enjoyed by all. It goes well any soup but especially with Egusi

  1. Peel, cut and wash the yam
  2. Put the washed yam on fire and add water
  3. Allow the yam to cook till very soft
  4. When the yam is soft, bring out your mortal and pestle
  5. Add in the boiled yam, one by one while you pound
  6. After you've have pounded all the yam slices
  7. Add boiling water to the yam little by little while you dip the pestle in water and pound
  8. Add water continuously till the pounded yam is soft enough for you
  9. Scoop it in a leaf or nylon. Your pounded yam is ready
