Popular among ekiti people. Pounded yam is a nice meal enjoyed by all. It goes well any soup but especially with Egusi
- Peel, cut and wash the yam
- Put the washed yam on fire and add water
- Allow the yam to cook till very soft
- When the yam is soft, bring out your mortal and pestle
- Add in the boiled yam, one by one while you pound
- After you've have pounded all the yam slices
- Add boiling water to the yam little by little while you dip the pestle in water and pound
- Add water continuously till the pounded yam is soft enough for you
- Scoop it in a leaf or nylon. Your pounded yam is ready
