OHA SOUP

Oha soup is a Nigerian delicacy from the Eastern region, it is commonly prepared by the Igbo people from an evergreen tree whose botanical name is Pterocarpus mildraedii. The main ingredient for the soup is the oha leaf, others include uziza,achi (soup thickener), meat, crayfish ,palm oil and salt.

  1. add some uziza seeds in a blender

  3. add some water and blend into a smooth paste

  4. in your protein add the pepper blend

  5. rinse the blender and add the water to the pot

  6. add seasoning, mix and cover to come to a boil

  7. hand cut your ora leaves and wash properly

  8. after 15 minutes of cooking your meat add your stockfish flakes smoked fish ad crayfish powder

  10. add more seasoning to taste, mix ,cover and allow to come to a boil

  16. then add your ora leaves in 2 stages

  17. mix and your ora is ready! serve with any swallow of choice.
