HOW TO MAKE TOMATO PASTE AT HOME

Tomato paste is something we all use once in a while, and we often do not even remember it until we need it. Learning how to make yours will save you tons of wastage and money. It kinda also gives you control of what you consume .

  1. To make tomato paste you need finely selected healthy. red and very fresh tomatoes.

  2. You also need beet root , wash the back and peel off to reveal the red/purplish skin.

  3. You'll also be needing some garlic and bay leaves

  4. First thing to do is prep your tomatoes by deseeding because you want a smooth pate and also removing all the bad and damaged parts in the tomatoes.

  5. After deseeding, turn the tomatoes into a pot for cooking, go in with the garlic, bay leaves, I teaspoon salt.

  6. Place the pot on fire and cove to cook for 45 minutes. Its more like you're drying out the tomatoes (roasting)

  7. After 25 minutes of cooking , go in with the beetroots to cook till the 45 minutes is complete. To know if the beetroot is ready put a knife through it if it easily cuts then you know it's ready.

  8. Now proceed to blend using a food processor or high quality blender and blend away. Blend while it's still hot.

  9. Your home made tomato paste is ready! store in a jar with tight lid and store in a refrigerator till you're ready to use.
