Pounded yam is a glutinous dough processed traditionally by pounding and kneading of boiled yam. It is arguably the most popular traditional yam food product in West Africa and is called iyan in Yoruba part of Nigeria
- Peel yam
- Cut yam into cubes or shape of your choice
- Boil till it’s soft
- Rinse mortar and pestle
- Pour the boiled yam into your mortar
- Pound and mix with pestle till it’s very fluffy and succulent ☺️
