Healthy Hibiscus/Zobo Drink – Without Sugar

Zobo is a popular Nigerian drink made with dried hibiscus flowers, fruits and spices. It is believed to have many health benefits due to its antioxidant content and can be taken by both young and old. Aside from its attractive bright red color, it also tastes divine and is best served chilled.

  1. Rinse off your Zobo leaves thoroughly before placing it in a pot of water. Note: Your water should cover the leaves
  2. Properly wash and slice the pineapple, oranges, apples, lemon and ginger.
  3. Blend and sieve the pineapple. Set aside
  4. Add the pineapple peel and other sliced ingredients into the pot
  5. Add your cinnamon sticks, cloves, anise and pineapple chaff into the pat as well and boil for 30 to 40 minutes
  6. After boiling for the estimated time, bring down and sieve
  7. Add your pineapple drink and set aside to cool
  8. Refrigerate and enjoy your chilled Zobo drink with your family
