Gbegiri

Gbegiri is a soup eaten by the Yorubas. It is made with peeled beans. It can be accompanied with swallow of choice paired with Ewedu I.e Amala, Semo, Tuwo

  1. Measure beans and soak it in water for 2minutes

  2. Peel the beans
  3. Place a clean pot on fire and put water then add potash

  4. Add the peeled beans and allow it to boil until it is soft. Continue stirring to avoid spilling

  5. When the beans is soft, use hand broom (Ijabe) to blend it to get a smooth purée. Blend the pepper and onions smoothly then add it to the smooth purée beans.

  6. Add palm oil, locust beans, seasoning cubes and salt to taste then stir together and allow to cook for 10minutes

  7. Serve Gbegiri with choice of swallow
