Beans is a very good protein options but most people either don’t like the idea of it taking too long to cook or they don’t even like eating it at all. There are two ways to make it, jollof method or frying method, today I’m showing you the jollof method
- In your blender add 20 % fresh tomatoes, 70% tatashe and atarodo (bell pepper& scotch bonnet), please always deseed your tatashe so that it doesn't make your food bitter and too too spicy. Add 20% onions and 10% garlic,
- Add some water and blend Into a smooth paste. As this is going on the honey beans is already cooking in the pressure pot, this will take about30-45 minutes to cook using a pressure pot.
- After blending the pepper and your beans in ready, go in with some palm oil in the pot,
- Add your blended pepper mix and stir into the oil.
- Season with some seasoning cubes and some salt
- Then go in with your parboiled beans
- Stir to mix in the stew base with the beans
- Cover the pot and allow the beans to cook in the stew for 10-15 minutes, this will further help your beans cook more. YBeans is more enjoyable when it's not too dry so allow it have some sauce.
- You can add some vegetables , ugwu leaf, scent leaf , but you can skip it if you don't want. Some people like to add crayfish, if your'e that person then go ahead to add some crayfish. Allow this to sit for 2-3 minutes and your beans is ready,
- You can serve with fried plantain, yam, bread or drink garri with it, you can have beans and custard or pap . I love beans! Enjoy!
