Akara chips

A crispy and dry Akara/beans cake

  1. Soak the beans for 30 mins
  2. Pound it with a mortar till the beans are separated from the chaff
  3. Pour in some water and rinse the beans till all the chaff are gone
  4. Rinse the pepper and onion and add to the washed beans
  5. Blend with more water than the one used for typical Akara. We want the paste watery
  6. Add in the salt to taste and mix
  7. Put the vegetable oil on fire and allow it to heat up
  8. Add in your paste with a spoon and allow it to get brown on both sides
  9. Your delicious Akara chips is ready. Enjoy!!!
