Abacha is a delicious African meal made from cassava. it’s so simple easy to make.
There are two ways of preparing it, (cooked and uncooked) and I’ll be sharing the uncooked method.
I couldn’t find garden egg, so I had to prepare mine without it but added cucumber slices at the side.
- Soak abacha in a cold water for 5 minutes to be soft
- While the abacha is soaking, cut the onions and garden egg. Pound the groundnuts in a morter or blend with a soup blender.
- Soak the akanwu in 10ml of water in a soup plater and filter out the water into a pot. And while it's soaking, filter out the abacha in a basket let the water drain out.
- Add a tablespoon of palm oil in the filtered akanwu water and stir, it will turn to semi-thick in yellow colour.
- Pour in your abacha in the mixture and stir until mixed.
- Add in your garden egg (chopped), onion, blended pepper, seasoning cube, groundnuts and salt to taste.
- Stir the mixture together until it's all mixed.
- Dish out and enjoy.
